Ellen Gilliam Perry Book Fund

The Ellen Gilliam Perry Book Fund was established in 1983 to be used for the purchase of books for the library, with a preference for works in the humanities, and literature. The fund is named for Ellen Perry (1925–2008), a former circulation librarian at Alderman Library.
Seal of the University of Virginia. Motto at bottom: "Non refert quam multos sed quam bonos libros legas. Non quam diu, sed quam bene vixeris refert.
