Printing & Photocopying

  • Printing and copying in the libraries are managed by Printing and Copying Services (PCS).
  • Photocopy machines and black and white printers are located in every library. Color printers are available at Alderman, Clemons, Fine Arts, and Brown Science & Engineering.
  • PrintMe printers are available in Alderman, Clemons, and Brown Science & Engineering.
  • Map of UVA libraries.

Cavalier Advantage cards are needed for all printing and copying. Vending machines are located in Alderman, Clemons, Fine Arts, and Brown Science & Engineering.

Costs

  • Black & white printing and copying (8.5″ x 11″) cost $.08 per copy.
  • Color printing (8.5″ x 11″) costs $.60 per copy.

Self-Service Scanning

  • Self-service scanning is available in Alderman, Clemons,  Brown Science & Engineering, Fine Arts, Physics, and Music.
  • The largest dimension scanner available for public use is 11 x 17 inches.

Computing

  • Library users are strongly encouraged to bring their personal laptops or mobile devices to the library to do their work.
  • Faculty, students and staff can connect to cavalier, UVA’s encrypted wireless network, with these instructions provided by ITS.
  • Guests of the University can obtain a temporary passcode to connect to U.Va.’s unencrypted wireless network from the service desks in Alderman, Clemons, and Brown Science & Engineering.

Digitization

The University Library provides a variety of scanning services for faculty who would like text, images, or audio-visual materials to be digitized for classroom or research use. For non-UVA affiliated researchers, there is a fee-based scanning service for the digitization of archival materials housed in the Small Special Collections Library.
