Request books

  • Instructions for students living outside the Charlottesville/Albemarle area

    SCPS students living outside the Charlottesville/Albemarle area can request that books from the UVA Library or from other libraries be sent to their homes by setting up an Interlibrary Services (ILS) account. To get started:

    1. Visit the Delivery of Materials to SCPS & Distance Education Students page
    2. Click on the Sign in: ILLiad button on the right side of the page
    3. You will be prompted to log in via NetBadge.
    4. Click on the UVA Users Enter Here button
    5. Fill in the New User Registration form (Be sure to choose “Send to Address” for your Delivery Method, and “Distance Education” as your Pick Up Location)
    6. Provide your complete mailing address (No P.O. Boxes)

    Please read instructions at the bottom of the ILS registration form under "Users who live outside Charlottesville /Albemarle County area." Also, please be sure to list a “secure” address, where packages of books may be left if you’re not home.

  • Instructions for students living within the Charlottesville/Albemarle area

    SCPS students living within the Charlottesville/Albemarle area will need an Interlibrary Services (ILS) account to request books from other libraries, or to request books listed in VIRGO with an Ivy Annex location. Follow the steps listed above to register for an account. Please pay special attention to the instructions at the bottom of the page under "Users who live inside the Charlottesville/Albemarle County area."
